My Secret Body Lotion Trick

My friends always wonder how my skin stays smooth and moisturized all day. They always wonder what kind of body lotion I use.

I have a secret body lotion trick. And it's not always necessarily the body lotion itself.

I live in the desert climate and it's pretty common to get extra dry skin. It's funny, if you look at dry skin up close, it looks like a desert landscape, as well. After reading some research, I realized that having super dry skin is a contributor to aging. This pretty much scared me into finding a way to have super moisturized skin all the time.

I discovered a trick with body lotion. Here's how I do it:

I take a nice long warm shower
Immediately after the shower, I dab myself with a towel until I'm slightly wet
When my skin is naturally moisturized, I take body lotion and I take my time rubbing it in
I take my towel and dab any excess lotion

This body trick typically leaves me with moisturized skin all day. It's very rare for me to reapply lotion throughout the day, unless the air is completely and utterly arid. Give this body lotion trick a try and see what happens!

There are some things that my wife and I will do together that can really be a great time and that can also allow for us to spend some time together. The Three Year Old and the Body Lotion

Yesterday afternoon I was sitting out in the sunshine soaking up some rays and my three year old niece arrived with my sister and brother in law. My husband invited them over for a last minute BBQ and even though he didn't tell me, I was more than thrilled to see them. My niece came running out onto the deck out back with a bottle of body lotion and said that she should help me put some on because my skin was going to get burned and I was going to dry up like an old prune if I didn't wear body lotion. My mom’s 50^th birthday was only a week away and I still hadn’t booked a ticket home for the surprise party. I was banking on a seat opening up late for a super discounted price and the travel site I was a part of alerting me to it. With four days until the surprise birthday celebration that alert had not come. I had my aftershave, toothbrush, collared shirt and present packed up and ready to go in a suitcase in my bedroom closet. At this point, a plane ticket was way more money then I could afford. With no other options, I got in the car the day of her birthday and hit the road.

While bombing down the freeway towards the state line, I let my grandma and uncle who were planning the party know when I’d get there. My mom got off work around five and the surprise party was set for 7pm at my grandma’s house. She had already called my mom to tell her to come by around that time for a small dinner before she went out with her friends. What mom didn’t know were all her friends and kids would be waiting with huge smiles on their faces.

I had an idea of when I’d get there. If I went the speed limit, I’d arrive around 6:15. Before leaving I’d gone to a hair care place to clean up, slapped on aftershave and thrown on a nice outfit. Beach Tote Full of Body Lotion

Summertime nears and so do the days of relaxing on the beach. Hanging out on the beach is one of my favorite summertime things to do. My beach tote carries most everything I need for a day in the sun. I load up with all sorts of sunscreen body lotion. There is usually enough in my beach tote to lather up half the beach. I just like to carry a lot of sunscreen. I feel you can never have enough.

After swimming in the ocean or playing a game of sand volleyball I like to reapply more sunscreen body lotion. The salt water and sweat really wash away the protective shield of sunscreen lotion. Also in my beach tote can be found several bottles of water, snacks, my cell phone, magazines and good book. After running around on the beach I like to relax and read a bit. I can spend many afternoons doing just that.

My birthday is coming up soon, and I would like to get some new fragrance perfume. My husband has asked me, as well as other family members, what I would like for my birthday. Jewelry is one thing that is always a nice gift, perfume also, and even fashion clothing. There are so many things out there, and I would be happy with whatever they buy for me. I am getting low on fragrance perfume so that is something I could actually use. I wear perfume often, because I like to smell good. It gives me confidence knowing that I never smell bad. I put on what I know to be his favorite perfume for women scent, and when he sees me and smells me, he smiles. Hair Care Alternative

I don't know about you but I have sure had to find ways to save money this year. One of them is cutting out my visits to have my hair care done at the salon. Now that may seem a little drastic but I was able to save a lot of money this way.

I still color my hair because I absolutely have to or I would be totally grey and that is unacceptable in my book! I am not ready for that yet. I do the hair care myself now. I am able to color my own hair and spend pennies to the dollar compared to when I went to the beauty salon. It is a big savings.

I can't do my entire hair care process alone though. It is difficult to get to the back part of my head. My husband has graciously stepped in and helped out. He dons a pair of plastic gloves and does the back part of my head with ease. There usually is enough color left in the bottle so he can do his own hair care.

I have come to the conclusion that I don't need the salon anymore. Home remedy hair care solutions and alternatives are becoming a way of life for me now. They work well and save money. I can certainly live with that!

I will admit that I get my hair done at a really nice local hair salon that offers awesome hair care each month—one of the few things these days that you are unable to do online. Since I can remember people have always told me, mostly hair care stylists that I have some of the thickest, coarse hair they have ever laid their hands through. In one respect that is a great thing because it means I will never be bald. Sometimes I see guys no more then five years my senior with bald spots at the top of their heads and wonder what that would feel like. Thick hair is the worst when it gets really long. I get somewhat of a white guy’s afro. It at times, after letting it grow out for about a month, with a nice brush back looks like an early 90’s flat top. I pulled this move off for Halloween and it worked like a charm. Some people said it looked sweet but my girlfriend couldn’t even look at me without laughing. I thought it looked pretty ridiculous.

This is a common sight in our neighborhood and while the prickly pear cacti are completely adapted to our hot, dry climate, my skin is not. I love living in the desert, and my first defense against the dry air is using lots of body lotion every day. We buy it by the case practically because the humidity in the warm months sometimes hovers around zero. We keep body lotion in all the bathrooms, carry it in the side pockets of the car, and I even have a bottle of it at my desk.

No More Razor Bumps with New Aftershave

The left side of my front neck, next to the Adam’s apple must be super sensitive because every time I shave small red razor bumps pop up in this spot. It could be after using a dull blade, new blade, a face full of shaving cream, no matter what little red bumps pop up. Then I went online to a retailer I use to buy hair care supplies. Under the men section, I saw a well-priced aftershave said to be rich in soothing moisturizing. I know my skin well enough to be certain it gets irritated very quickly. It could be the grass, an overly sweaty activity, heat or shaving but my skin always reacts. Because of the price, I bought the aftershave and recently used it after letting my 5 o’clock shadow grow out to more of a midnight pre-beard.

With a good amount of whiskers, I shaved like any other day after a shower and applied the aftershave. For one it smelled fresh and two the red razor bumps stayed to a minimum. I had to really look for them a couple of hours later.

Sometimes I wonder what on earth my husband would do without me. Yesterday, he came in the kitchen where I was cooking supper with an empty bottle. He looked at me and said that we were out of his favorite hair care product. I kept cooking and simply said, "Ok." He asked if I would order him an extra bottle or two of the hair care products since he seems to go through them so quickly and I said ok, but then asked him why he didn't just take a few minutes and order the hair care products himself. Sometimes I read reviews of fragrance perfume products online. I do this so I can get some ideas of what to purchase for myself or for female friends and loved ones. When I am reading fragrance perfume reviews I often notice references to the scent life which lets consumers know how long the smell of the product is likely to last on their skin. I often think that reviews underestimate the scent life of the fragrances they write about. You see I think there is a difference between the time when we stop being able to smell our own fragrance perfume and how long it really lasts. I hold this opinion because there are times when I choose to wear a coat or jacket I haven’t worn for a week or two and I can still smell traces of my fragrance perfume on it. I do have a very good sense of smell. However the fragrance notes in scents must be stronger than many of us think if they can last for such a long time. That is why I ignore any comments about scent life that I read in fragrance perfume reviews.

Wife Always Smells Like Flowers Thanks to her Fragrance Perfume

Every day whenever my wife gets home from work the first thing that I do is give her a really big hug and a kiss, and tell her I love her. Time To Toss the Old Body Lotion and Nail Polish

I love the way my skin feels when I get out of the bath and immediately apply body lotion to my skin. It seems that when my skin is warm from the bath, that the body lotion tends to soak into my skin easier and I'm convinced it is the one thing that has kept my skin so soft and smooth throughout the winter. This morning as I was applying the body lotion, I started thinking about some of the old products that I had under the sink that I never used so decided once I got dressed to go through them and toss away what was either expired or never got used. I was a little surprised to find a tube of body lotion that has probably been under that sink for four years. There are some lessons, ones that are very valuable, that my father has taught me over the years about business and when you are heading out to business meetings: always be as presentable as you possibly can. I have literally taken his loving words of advice to heart and I always make sure to look my best by assuring that my hair care is in order, and that I am dressed to impress, not to mention wearing a pungent brand of my favorite designer men's cologne. Remembering To Put Body Lotion On My Feet

I’ve been thinking about the fact that I sometimes avoid putting body lotion on the bottoms of my feet when I get out of the shower. I do this because I have a slippery tile floor in my bathroom and I am afraid that if I put body lotion on my feet I will fall down and ‘bust my butt,’ as my husband likes to say. However I have recently noticed that my heels are looking a bit dry and cracked lately even though I remove the dead skin with a pumice stone on a regular basis. That’s why lately I have made a point of remembering to put body lotion on my feet. I have avoided the risk of slipping on the tiles by remembering to take a pair of slippers into the bathroom with me before I get into the shower. Actually having the slippers there is actually serving as a reminder to apply the body lotion to my feet. I am doing this now so that the skin on my feet will be in good condition by the time summer gets here. Hopefully doing this now means that I won’t have to feel embarrassed when I am on vacation this coming June.

Lilac Fragrance Perfume a Good Way to Remember My Favorite Flowering Bush

The fragrance perfume that I ordered online last week came and I just love it. I chose one that has lilac tones in it and when I don't want to wear it on my skin, I'll just sniff the bottle a few times or moisten a towel with it so I can enjoy it. Some of my friends are allergic to perfume so I don't wear fragrance perfume when I'm with them. I learned that I can have just as much enjoyment of fragrance perfume from the bottle as wearing it.

Of course, enjoying the aroma of lilacs is something that brightens my day when I do wear it. Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers and I adore the smell. We can't grow them in this hot climate because it never gets cold enough in the winter. Sometimes in June we'll drive up to the mountains when the lilacs are blooming and enjoy walking through the small mountain towns in neighborhoods looking for lilacs and taking pictures of them in full bloom. Sometimes the occupants of the home allow us to clip a few branches to take home with us which is always a treat. Now that I have my own lilac fragrance perfume, the pressure to find those bushes in bloom is lessened, but we'll always cruise up to the mountains to see these lovely flowers in full bloom.
